DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — A heavy law enforcement presence was spotted early Tuesday morning in a community in Deerfield Beach.

Deputies responded to the area of Lakeside Drive and Lakeside Way in the Deer Creek community at about 4:15 a.m.

A Local 10 News crew was there as divers with the Broward Sheriff’s Office were searching a retention pond.

BSO spokesman Carey Codd confirmed in an email to Local 10 News that an “active law enforcement investigation” was occurring in the area.

“There is no threat to the community,” he added.

BSO is expected to release more information about the investigation later in the day.
