MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Daisy Link, who was convicted of second-degree murder last year in the June 2022 killing of her longtime partner, is facing a new charge after she allegedly attacked a fellow inmate.
According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the attack occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Northwest 41st Street.
Deputies said the victim, identified in the report only by her last name, Gupta, was in her cell when Link, 30, entered it and began punching Gupta in the face.
Deputies said Gupta claimed that Link punched her at least 15 times and said there were no words exchanged between them before the attack.
According to the report, Gupta said she did not know the reason for the attack.
Deputies noted in the report that they spoke with two witnesses, one of who said she saw the two in the cell but didn’t see a physical altercation and another who said she saw Gupta on the floor of the cell and Link helping her to stand up.
According to the report, Gupta sustained a minor injury to her upper lip and a minor scratch to her nose.
Link faces a charge of battery by a detainee on another detainee.
Link was found guilty in October 2025 of fatally shooting Pedro Jimenez, her partner of nine years and father of two of her children, after he allegedly planned to break up with her and keep her away from their children.
She also made international headlines in 2024 for becoming pregnant with another child by a fellow inmate while in jail.
