BSO: Woman injured in domestic-related shooting in Tamarac

TAMARAC, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was shot Tuesday night in Tamarac, authorities confirmed to Local 10 News.

According to BSO spokesman Carey Codd, the shooting was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of North Pine Island Road.

Codd said deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

He said deputies who were first at the scene rendered aid to the woman before paramedics airlifted her to a local hospital for treatment.

Codd confirmed that detectives discovered that the shooting was domestic-related, involving people who are known to each other.

BSO’s Special Victims and Crime Scene units responded to the scene after the shooting to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing and no arrests have been announced.
