DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday released the identities of the suspect arrested and two others who died Tuesday after an SUV carrying the alleged car burglars crashed into a lake in Deerfield Beach.

Pledidson Jeansam Philibert, 21, who made it out of the water early Tuesday morning, was arrested on five counts of burglary of unoccupied conveyance and three counts of conspiring to commit burglary of an unoccupied conveyance.

The two men whose lifeless bodies were pulled from the water were identified as Weekenley Felix, 22, and Ashly Rosier, 20.

According to BSO spokesman Carey Codd, deputies responded to the 700 block of Deer Creek Emerald Way West just before 4 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report about a burglary.

Codd said deputies discovered that multiple people had been burglarizing unoccupied vehicles in the community.

Home surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News shows a man running through that neighborhood just after 4 a.m. He appears to try to hide under a parked car before surrendering with his hands up, as police lights flash in the distance. But then he flees the scene.

Codd said the driver of the vehicle the suspects were in eventually crashed into a lake while fleeing from the area.

He said Philibert made it out of the lake and was taken into custody.

BSO divers later recovered the bodies of Felix and Rosier from the water.
