According to an arrest report from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Jakir Hasan, 23, of West Palm Beach, was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated stalking/harassment/cyberstalking and illegally installing a tracking device.

A deputy wrote in the report that he met with the victim Wednesday in Parkland who reported that Hasan, who is her ex-boyfriend who she dated for about two years, has been harassing her through text messages, handwritten letters and social media posts.

She said the harassment started about six months ago when he started to call, text and reach out to her via social media, asking her to get back together with him.

According to the report, Hasan sent the victim flowers on Tuesday and on that same day she discovered a tracking device in her vehicle.

Prior to that, on Jan. 11, her brother found a letter at about 2 a.m. in the driveway of their home.

Inside the letter was a handwritten note from Hasan, along with a 9 mm bullet casing, authorities said.

“The letter went on about how he messed it up with her and asking to get back with her because he loves her very much,” the report stated.

According to the report, the victim told the deputy that Hasan, in a text message that she had deleted, threatened to kill her current boyfriend.

Deputies said the victim stated that she doesn’t believe Hasan would harm her, but fears he might try to harm her new boyfriend.

She claimed he also made some suicidal comments in one of the letters he sent to her.

According to the report, Hasan agreed to meet with a detective at BSO’s Parkland station Wednesday and confessed to sending the letter with the bullet casing inside and placing a tracking device in the victim’s vehicle.

As of Friday morning, Hasan was being held at the Broward County Main Jail on a $10,000 bond.
