MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — A 57-year-old Marathon man was arrested Friday after authorities say he punched a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputy while intoxicated at a gas station.
Jail records show Christopher Kevin Armstrong is facing charges of one count of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly intoxication.
MCSO deputies said they were called to the RaceTrac gas station around 7:20 p.m. for reports of an intoxicated, disorderly man.
When deputies made contact, they said Armstrong struck one deputy in the head with a closed fist.
Armstrong was eventually subdued with a Taser and taken into custody.
He was transported to Fishermen’s Hospital before being booked into jail. His bond was set at $22500.
