FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — With the rare artic cold front in full effect in South Florida, it’s another night of bundling up to keep warm.
Residents aren’t used to cold temperature like this.
“I’m from here, I’ve been living here for 35 years, this is freaking cold,” said one resident. “It’s so cold. I’m like freezing for sure.”
Even a Canadian resident is feeling the freeze.
“I live up in Boca but yeah, I’ve never seen anything like this in my four years in the U.S.,” he said. “This is crazy, or four years in Florida.”
Plenty of people walking along Las Olas Boulevard wearing heavy coats and shielding from the wind. Dogs also dressed in sweaters to stay warm.
Restaurants and bars in the area offering heaters to attract customers.
Tourists from colder places also feeling the cold.
“I’m from New York City and it is significantly warm here, however I’m wearing my North Face, I’m wearing my insulated gloves cause it’s cold,” a tourist said. “Last night, iguanas were falling out of trees it’s freezing.”
