Lewis Scipp, 20, was taken into custody along with Zecheriah Jamal Brown, 17, and 16-year-olds Rayon Lashawn Vaillant and Devin Wilson, according to jail records obtained by Local 10 News on Tuesday.

The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. near the 2100 block of Northwest 70th Street. Deputies responded to a ShotSpotter alert detecting 11 rounds and found a male victim with a gunshot wound.

Deputies said the victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.

Investigators said they documented 35 spent shell casings of various calibers at the scene.

They said surveillance footage showed a gold Nissan Altima with no license plate, from which three males dressed in black exited, fired shots, and then fled.

A be-on-the-lookout alert was then issued based on “unique physical damage” to the vehicle, the report stated.

The vehicle was later located near Northwest 70th Street and Northwest 21st Avenue.

At approximately 6:25 p.m., deputies said they observed four males bailing from the car located at a home near the 2100 block of Northwest 69th Terrace.

They said after a perimeter was established with 29 units, a helicopter, and K9 teams, all four were found hiding in a yard on Northwest 70th Street and taken into custody just after 7:30 p.m.

Scipp, who was out on bond for an unrelated case, admitted in a statement that he and the others fled because they feared getting arrested, according to his arrest report.

A motive for the shooting remains unclear.

Records show Scipp is facing one count each of burglary of an occupied dwelling and resisting an officer without violence. Charges for the three teenagers have not yet been announced.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Scipp was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond was listed at $8,000.

He was also ordered by a Miami-Dade judge to stay away from the victim after appearing in bond court.
