Suspect arrested after armed carjacking of Corvette in Miami

Suspect crashes stolen Corvette into SUV, gas station

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — An investigation is underway following an armed carjacking of a Corvette that occurred in Miami.

It happened Thursday around 1:20 a.m. in the area of Northwest Fifth Avenue and 30th Street.

Responding officers were told by the two victims that they were approached by a man with a gun while sitting in their car at the incident location.

Later in the morning, deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle at a Shell gas station located on Northwest 183rd Street and 42nd Avenue and detained the suspect.

Surveillance video shows the suspect crashing the stolen Corvette into an SUV and a gate at the Shell station.

That suspect, who has not been identified, was then taken into custody by Miami police.

No injuries were reported.
