MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Police said they arrested a 41-year-old Miami Gardens woman on Sunday in connection with an April slashing incident.
According to an arrest report from the Miami Gardens Police Department, officers went to the New World Condo Apartments, located at 301 NW 177th St. just after midnight on April 28 after receiving multiple reports of shots fired.
After seeing blood around an apartment, police said they entered and found blood all over the floor and the victim suffering "several cuts and scrapes."
Authorities said he told officers that he had gotten into a dispute with Jaqueline Rodriguez, a woman he described as his “baby mama,” after she found out that he was having sex with her sister.
According to police, he told officers that she “used a knife towards him” and that “this was uncalled for.”
It’s unclear what led to the nearly year-long gap between the incident and Rodriguez’s arrest, but officers took her into custody at the Marathon gas station at 18200 NW Seventh Ave. at around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Rodriguez was jailed on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, with a bond listed as “to be set” in online records.
Those records show she was also out on felony bond on burglary and grand theft charges at the time of her arrest.
