FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — One adult was hospitalized Tuesday morning following a stabbing in Fort Lauderdale, police confirmed.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, the stabbing was reported at about 8:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of Northwest 63rd Street.

Police said officers located the suspect upon their arrival and the victim was found a short distance away in the 3100 block of Northwest 68th Street, suffering from a stab wound.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials, the victim was transported to Broward Health North with life-threatening injuries.

Police confirmed that the suspect has been detained.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that this incident is domestic in nature and there is no current threat to the public,” FLPD said in an email to Local 10 News.

The investigation remains ongoing and the identities of the suspect and victim have not yet been released.
