HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A large amount of narcotics were found on a bicyclist after he fled from police officers in Hollywood, authorities said.
The incident occurred Jan. 26, but Hollywood police released body camera footage of the incident this week.
“During overnight patrol, one of our officers attempted to stop a bicyclist for riding at night without a bicycle light and for interfering with the flow of traffic by weaving in and out of lanes in a dangerous manner,” a social media post from HPD read. “When the officer attempted to make contact, the subject fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the officer was able to safely take the individual into custody.”
After apprehending the man, police said they found a large amount of drugs hidden in his shoes, socks and pants.
The man, who was not identified in the social media post, was arrested for possession of controlled substances, police said.
