BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office announced two arrests in connection to a murder that occurred late last month.
According to BSO, deputies responding to the West Broward Boat Ramp located at 3451 N. U.S. 27 on the morning on Sunday, Feb. 1 found a deceased man inside a vehicle.
That man was later identified as 22-year-old Hunter Howell, and detectives ruled his death a homicide, saying they believe it occurred the previous day on Jan. 31.
After an extensive investigation, detectives identified Jayden DeJesus, 19, of Miami and Trevon Quinones, 19, of Forney, Texas, as suspects in the murder.
Both suspects were taken into custody on Wednesday following a traffic stop in Kaufman County, Texas. BSO and the U.S. Marshals Office assisted the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office in the arrests.
Police did not say if or how the suspects and the victim were acquainted.
DeJesus and Quinones were booked into a Kaufman County jail on charges of first-degree murder and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and both men are expected to be extradited to Broward County.
