FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A man accused of stabbing a person in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week has been booked into a Broward County jail, according to jail records obtained by Local 10 News on Thursday.
Jail records show Dorian Colin Rodriquez faces one count of first-degree premeditated attempted murder in connection with the stabbing.
Fort Lauderdale police said the stabbing occurred around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3300 block of Northwest 63rd Street.
They said the victim was found a short distance away in the 3100 block of Northwest 68th Street, suffering from a stab wound. Officers located Rodriquez upon arrival.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials said the victim was transported to Broward Health North with life-threatening injuries.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that this incident is domestic in nature and there is no current threat to the public,” police said in an email to Local 10 News.
The identity of the victim and a motive for the stabbing haven’t been released at this time.
As of Thursday morning, he was being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail. He is expected to appear in bond court on Thursday.
