Erik Zepeda, 34, was on his way to work at around 6:30 a.m. when authorities said a driver hit his motorcycle on Sunrise Boulevard, near Northwest 38th Avenue.

Zepeda’s brother, Jenry Villalobos, said he was trying to make a better life for his family.

“My brother, he was a good guy, great guy, hard worker,” Villalobos said. “He didn’t do nothing wrong to nobody. He worked seven days a week, no days off.”

Zepeda now leaves behind a grieving family.

“He’s got three kids ― three boys ― a 4-year-old, 5-year-old and a 14-year-old and my mom, she’s destroyed,“ Villalobos said. ”Whoever did this has no heart (to) leave a human being in the street like that."

Zepeda worked at Koala Insulation, where co-workers remembered him as a hard-working employee who gave his all to his job “all the time,” his employer, David Ludeman, said.

Villalobos said his brother “didn’t deserve it, but I will do my best, my best to keep his memory and do my best for his kids.”

Zepeda’s mother lives in Honduras and she wants to see her son one last time. They are trying to fly his body home.

Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to help with those expenses.

Lauderhill police have not provided any updates about their investigation into the crash.

On Friday, they asked anyone with information to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
