MIAMI — An Israeli man is facing a felony charge in South Florida after deputies said he was caught with a child sexual abuse video after arriving on a cruise at PortMiami on Monday.
A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrest report states that federal agents had received a “suspicious activity report“ about cruise passenger Basilios Grayeb, 29, of Haifa, regarding ”the purchasing of child sexual abuse material."
According to MDSO, a customs officer conducted a border search on Grayeb’s cellphone after Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas docked at the port.
The report states that authorities found a video of a man raping a girl who appeared to be under 5 years old.
Deputies said Grayeb “provided a confession.”
He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was being held on a $2,500 bond as of Tuesday morning.
Additionally, federal authorities have placed an immigration hold.
