HIALEAH, Fla. — A man from North Carolina and a man from California stand accused of trying to defraud Electronic Dance Music fans outside of Factory Town in Hialeah, according to police reports.
Police officers arrested Jalaal Spearman, of North Carolina’s city of Goldsboro, and David Stiger, of Los Angeles’s Sylmar neighborhood, at 3:15 a.m. on Monday at 4800 NW 37 Ave., records showed.
Stiger, 39, and Spearman, 48, were “approaching people who were walking” outside Factory Town and attempting to sell the EDM fans $225 wristbands that were fraudulent, according to police.
Police officers seized cash and fake wristbands from both Stiger and Spearpman, according to the police arrest reports in the cases.
Corrections booked Stiger shortly before 6 a.m., and Spearman shortly after 6 a.m. at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to Miami-Dade inmate records.
Spearman and Stiger each faced charges of organized scheme to defraud; creating, altering, or possessing fraudulent admission tickets to sports, concerts, or amusement facilities with intent to defraud; and disorderly conduct.
