FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A power outage impacted dozens of businesses on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Boulevard area.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel responded to a power pole on fire at about 8:45 a.m. on Saturday at Southeast 12 Avenue and Las Olas Boulevard.
“Saturday is usually very busy for us,” said Andrea Sarracino, the owner of The Sarracino Salon. “Unfortunately, we had to cancel the whole day.”
The Florida Power & Light Company’s tracker map showed 34 customers affected at about 9 a.m.
Some had power restored by 3 p.m., and FPL was still working on the others.
