MIAMI — Emamua Shaiekh was on his way home to his wife and 13-month-old daughter when he died in a car crash on Sunday in Miami.
Shaiekh, 34, who was born in Bangladesh, had finished work at Miami International Airport when a driver struck him in Little Havana.
Shaiekh’s sister Faeza Tajkea said she received an emergency notification from her brother’s phone after the crash in the 300 block of Southwest 10th Avenue.
“I was thinking something bad happened. It was like an instinct,” Tajkea said on Monday. “I called, and somebody picked up the call, and she told us there was an accident.”
Tajkea said that when she got to the scene of the car crash, her brother’s body was still inside his blue Camry. The investigation was ongoing on Monday.
“I don’t know how I can see his last face, I don’t know. He was my loving brother,” Tajkea said. “He was my heart.”
