Miss Teen USA gives up title 2 days after Miss USA

Miss Teen USA 2023 resigned on Wednesday, just two days after Miss USA gave up her crown.

17-year-old UmaSofia Srivastava represented New Jersey at the 2023 pageant. She is the first titleholder of Indian-Mexican descent.

She made the announcement in a social media post on Wednesday.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported me these past two years, it has truly been an honor to represent you all. While this was certainly not how I saw my reign coming to a close, I am excited to continue my advocacy for education and acceptance, start applying to colleges, and share some exciting new projects on That’s Fan Behavior with those of you who plan to stick around 🥰 At the end of the day, I am so lucky to have had the privilege of this experience, but if this is just a chapter, I know that the story of my life will truly be incredible.”

Srivastava’s resignation comes after Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voight announced her decision to resign citing mental health concerns.

The Miss USA organization said Monday, they are now working on the succession plan and will make an announcement soon about who will step into Voight’s role for the remainder of the year.
