DeSantis tasks Miami-based attorney with vetting applicants for Florida judicial vacancies

Gov. Ron DeSantis recently appointed Miami-based Attorney Eliot Pedrosa to the 11th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.

MIAMI — Gov. Ron DeSantis recently appointed Miami-based Attorney Eliot Pedrosa to the 11th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.

DeSantis tasked the Florida International University and Harvard Law School grad with vetting applicants for the circuit’s judicial vacancies.

The Florida Bar recommended Pedrosa’s appointment. The JNC term for the partner at the Jones Day law firm in Brickell is set to end on July 1, 2026.

Here is the list of DeSantis’s 11 other appointments to the state’s Judicial Nominating Commissions:

  1. Jason Gonzalez’s term with the 2nd Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2027. 
  2. Nick Meros’s term with the 2nd Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2027. 
  3. Amanda Neff’s term with the 2nd Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2027. 
  4. Jason Vail’s term with the 2nd Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2026. 
  5. Eric Reed’s term with the 9th Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2027. 
  6. Kelvin Ready’s term with the 10th Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2027. 
  7. Todd Brister’s term with the 14th Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2027.
  8. William Lewis’s term with the 14th Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2028.
  9. Loren Esposito’s term with the 19th Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2028.
  10. Mark Miller’s term with the 19th Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2028.
  11. Barry Segal’s term with the 19th Circuit JNC ends on July 1, 2028.
