Jimmy Johnson is heading to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The former Dolphins and Hurricanes coach has been elected as part of the class of 2020.
He found out during an emotional surprise announcement on Fox during halftime of Sunday’s game between Seattle and Green Bay, and was left in tears and practically speechless.
Johnson joins former Steelers coach Bill Cowher as the two members of this year's class who were announced early. Former Dolphins Linebacker Zach Thomas is among those hoping to hear their name called when the rest of the class is announced on January 15th.
In between stints in Miami, Johnson led the Cowboys to two Super Bowl titles. He coached the Hurricanes from 1984-1988, guiding UM to the national championship in 1987. He also coached the Dolphins from 1996-1999.
