Now, Inter Miami goes from playing against some of the best teams in the world, to its regular competition in Major League Soccer this weekend.
Currently sitting in seventh place with 29 points and four games in hand, the club could reach the top spot in the eastern conference if it wins its next four matches.
Inter Miami travels to Montreal, Quebec on Saturday for its first game since getting battered by PSG.
Montreal CF sits in last place of the Eastern Conference with three wins, five draws and 12 losses.
The last time these two clubs met; Miami won 4-2 at Chase Stadium.
It’s still uncertain if Inter Miami’s manager, Javier Mascherano, will rest key players like Lionel Messi or Luis Suarez. If he does, young stars like Benjamin Cremaschi and Telasco Segovia will get the opportunity to lead the team.
However, Mascherano is confident Inter Miami will benefit from the experience they got in the tournament.
“I think that this is going to help us (back in MLS),” he said. “It goes without saying that it depends on our own personal intelligence that we have at our disposal as a team to be able to leverage this experience.”
The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET in the Stadium Saputo in Montreal.
