TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Local 10 spoke with former Hurricanes quarterback Malik Rosier ahead of Miami’s top-25 showdown against Florida State at Doak S. Campbell Stadium on Saturday night.
Fans are getting ready for a state showdown Saturday night with the No.3 ranked Miami Hurricanes in Tallahassee to take on the No. 18 Seminoles, and this year’s faceoff is a top 25 matchup.
Local 10’s Will Manso reported live from Tallahassee, where fans gathered at Pockets, a local venue owned by Rosier’s sister, ahead of the game.
Reflecting on his time at Miami, Rosier described the experience of facing Florida State as special.
“Me and my dad, we were Miami fans. My sister over there and my stepmom, my sisters, they were Florida State fans. So growing up it was always kind of divided house, but it was always love and then being able to play in it meant everything to me,” he said.
Rosier, who helped Miami defeat Florida State 24-20 in 2017 with three touchdowns, said he understands the intensity players face during rivalry week.
“So I came here, we beat Florida State, so go Canes. But it’s one thing that you hear about every year. For the most part it’s one of the most intense weeks of practices building up. So I know these guys are ready. I talked to some people and these guys are locked in,” he said.
Kickoff on Saturday is set for 7:30 p.m.
