MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami quarterback Carson Beck said Tuesday the Hurricanes will stick to what has worked as they prepare to host the Louisville Cardinals (4-1) at Hard Rock Stadium on Friday night.

The Hurricanes (5-0) are coming off a 28-22 win over Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium on Oct. 4. Beck threw four touchdowns in that game, helping Miami maintain control despite a challenging road environment in Tallahassee.

Through five games this season, Beck has thrown for 1,213 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions, posting an 85.0 passer rating.

Beck told Local 10’s Will Manso he’s not trying to reinvent the wheel or fix what isn’t broken.

“Don’t get bored with what we do. Continue to do what we do and continue to execute what we do,” said Beck. “I think a lot of teams and coaches go wrong when they start trying to find new things that they’re not essentially good at … like, that’s not how it works.”

Miami had a bye week after the Florida State win, giving the team extra time to refine its offense ahead of the Friday night matchup, which will give the Canes a rare taste of Friday night lights usually reserved for high school games.

Beck said the focus remains on execution and relying on the team’s strengths as the Hurricanes look to remain undefeated and contend for a national championship.

Kickoff from Hard Rock Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
