MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins boosted their pass-rush rotation by signing veteran Matthew Judon to a one-year deal on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Including incentives, the deal is worth up to $6 million, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Judon visited the team’s headquarters early Monday and worked out for the team shortly after.

Judon, 33, was drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft – having played for three teams (Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons).

On Aug. 14, 2024, the Patriots traded Judon to the Falcons in exchange for a 2025 third-round selection.

The four-time Pro-Bowler has recorded 72.0 sacks, 410 total tackles, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 19 pass deflections, and one interception in his career.

Judon joins a dangerous rotation that already features Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, and Chop Robinson.

Before the deal was publicly announced, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel met with local reporters that same afternoon and had this to say when asked whether working Judon out meant any of his pass-rushers would be sidelined for an extended period.

“There’s some presumption there,” said McDaniel. “No, there’s not. We’re visiting for the sake of seeing if there’s a situation that both parties would be able to come into an agreement of, ‘Hey, this is a situation that fits.’ So visiting for visiting purposes, we’ll see what it leads to.”

The Dolphins made one roster move on Monday, signing offensive lineman Mason Brooks, while placing offensive lineman Yodny Cajuste on the season-ending injured reserve list.
