MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins are moving into the next phase of their search for a new general manager, advancing to in-person interviews this week after completing an initial round of virtual meetings.

After narrowing down their search from seven candidates, Miami will interview four finalists beginning Thursday: Los Angeles Chargers assistant general manager Chad Alexander, Green Bay Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan, San Francisco 49ers vice president of player personnel Josh Williams and Dolphins interim general manager Champ Kelly, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Wednesday.

The Dolphins turned to Hall-of-Fame quarterback Troy Aikman to help with the search for viable candidates.

Miami had a two month head start on the search after mutually parting ways with former general manager Chris Grier in October. The team conducted two days of virtual interviews before narrowing the field to the finalists, Pelissero said.

Miami continues its search for a general manager while aiming to break its playoff drought, the longest active streak in the NFL, dating back to 2000.

Kelly, who took over on an interim basis following Grier’s dismissal, has been with the organization since 2022.

No timetable has been announced for when the Dolphins expect to make a final decision.
