The highly anticipated showdown comes one year after Miami’s dramatic 27-24 season-opening victory over Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium sparked months of controversy surrounding the final College Football Playoff rankings.

Notre Dame had been ranked ahead of Miami in the CFP standings for five consecutive weeks before the Hurricanes moved ahead of the Fighting Irish in the final rankings, earning the last playoff spot while Notre Dame was left out of the field.

Meanwhile, Miami advanced through the College Football Playoff before falling to the Indiana Hoosiers 27-21 in the national championship game on Jan. 19.

The Nov. 7 meeting in South Bend is expected to carry major implications for both programs as they navigate the 2026 season.

The Notre Dame game will mark Miami’s second consecutive road contest after the Hurricanes travel to play North Carolina Tar Heels on Oct. 31.

It also will be Miami’s final road game of the regular season before closing the year against Duke Blue Devils, Virginia Tech Hokies and Boston College Eagles.
