MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The long wait is almost over for Miami Dolphins fans and football fans around the world.
With the 2026 NFL season set to begin Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Lumen Field - home of the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks - the full Dolphins schedule, including dates and times, will be released Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
The NFL will announce its international games Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”
Coming off a 7-10 finish in 2025, the Dolphins enter the new season following the firings of general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel.
In their place, the franchise turns to general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley to guide a new era in Miami as the team looks to rebound.
The first full Sunday of the season will be Sept. 13.
As of Tuesday, the Dolphins are slated to host eight home games at Hard Rock Stadium and play nine road games.
Miami will face several high-profile quarterbacks during the season, including Drake Maye of the New England Patriots, who appeared in the Super Bowl a season ago but fell short in the title game; Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, who has a 14-3 all time-record (including playoffs) against the Dolphins; Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers, who previously played under Sullivan and Hafley; Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL MVP; Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, with McDaniel now serving as the offensive coordinator; and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Based on opponents’ winning percentages in 2025, the Dolphins will have the second-toughest schedule in 2026 (.542), trailing only the Chicago Bears (.550).
