MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — One of the Miami Dolphins top draft selections is getting his first taste of on-field action this week.
The Dolphins activated rookie wide receiver Chris Bell from the active/non-football injury list on Monday, paving the way for the Louisville standout to make his training camp debut.
Miami selected Bell in the third round, 94th overall, of the 2026 NFL Draft earlier this year.
The consensus is that Bell would have been drafted much higher, potentially toward the end of the first round, if he hadn’t suffered a major knee injury last December that required surgery and a lengthy recovery.
On Monday, Bell was seen wearing a red non-contact jersey and while he joined his teammates for individual drills, he did not participate in any 11-on-11 work.
Bell, along with quarterback Malik Willis, offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor and fellow rookie wideout Caleb Douglas, are the new faces of Miami’s offense, joining elite running back De’von Achane and All-Pro center Aaron Brewer.
The Dolphins next preseason game is Saturday at 4 p.m. when they host the New York Giants at Hard Rock Stadium.
