MOVIES— Four years after “Justice League” underwhelmed both critics and audiences, filmmaker Zack Snyder has come back to finish what he started. — Loretta Lynn’s new album is a celebration of women in country music and it features collaborations with Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Margo Price. — Katherine McPhee, of TV’s “American Idol” and “Smash,” plays an aspiring country singer, Bailey, who’s suffered career and personal setbacks in the Netflix series “Country Comfort,” debuting Friday.
Trailblazer Charley Pride to get lifetime achievement award
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trailblazing country music star Charley Pride will get a lifetime achievement award at the CMA Awards in November. 1 hits between the 1960s and 1980s, with songs like “Kiss An Angel Good Mornin'” and “Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone.”Pride, 82, will accept the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award on the CMA Awards on Nov. 11 on ABC. Pride was named CMA Entertainer of the year in 1971 and won male artist of the year in 1971 and 1972. He has three Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. Other recipients of the award include Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Kris Kristofferson.
Murray, Jokic help Denver stun Clippers 104-89 in Game 7
Murray scored 40 points, Jokic had a triple-double by the third quarter and Denver again overcame a double-digit deficit to shock the Los Angeles Clippers 104-89 in Game 7 on Tuesday night. Denver became the first team in NBA history to rally from a 3-1 series deficit twice in the same postseason. The 7-foot Jokic had a monster game with 16 points, 13 assists and 22 rebounds, which were the most by a Nuggets player in an NBA playoff game. Murray helped the Nuggets pour it on down the stretch to give coach Michael Malone a 49th birthday present. The team also rallied back from double-digit margins in their last two games as well to stun the Clippers.
Hank Williams Jr., Marty Stuart to join Country Hall of Fame

Announced by the Country Music Association on Wednesday, Williams will join his father, country legend Hank Williams Sr., in the Hall of Fame's rotunda. He also wrote timeless classics like Tennessee Whiskey," which has been covered by David Allan Coe, George Jones and Chris Stapleton.
Reps: Singers Kacey Musgraves, Ruston Kelly file for divorce
NEW YORK Grammy-winning country singer Kacey Musgraves and her musician-husband, Ruston Kelly, have filed for divorce. In a joint statement, Musgraves and Kelly said weve made this painful decision together." It won her the best country album Grammy and one of its singles, Merry Go Round, won best country song. Kelly has also written songs for other artists, including Tim McGraw, Hayes Carll, Lucie Silvas and Josh Abbott Band. Musgraves co-wrote Miranda Lamberts 2013 country hit, Mamas Broken Heart, earning herself a Grammy nomination as a songwriter.
A dozen Confederates are honored with US Capitol statues
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is calling to have the statues of Confederates removed from the Capitol, though she cannot do so unilaterally. Each of the 50 states is allowed by law to place two statues in the collection. LOUISIANAEdward Douglass White (1955) -- He was a teenager when he enlisted in the Confederate army, only to be captured a short time later. SOUTH CAROLINAWade Hampton (1929) -- A state lawmaker before the war, he rose to the rank of lieutenant general in the Confederate army. WEST VIRGINIAJohn Kenna (1901) -- He was wounded at 16 while serving in the Confederate army and would later become a congressman and senator.
Rosanne Cash wins prestigious MacDowell arts medal

Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash's demo of 'Wanted Man' released

Dylan wrote the song for Cash in 1969, and Cash recorded it on his live album, "At San Quentin," that same year. "Honey, I don't want to interrupt your train of thought, but be sure that Bob puts the melody to that song, that 'Wanted Man,'" she said. If you listen closely, you can hear Cash flubbing exactly where the "Wanted Man" is wanted and chuckling at his mistakes.
