First quarter GDP unchanged at robust 6.4% annual rate
The U.S. economy grew at a robust annual rate of 6.4% in the first three months of this year, unchanged from the government's initial estimate. The recovery from last year's deep recession gained steam at the beginning of this year, helped by vaccines to combat the virus and trillions of dollars in government assistance. The rise in the gross domestic product, the economy's total output of goods and services, was the same as the government's first look one month ago, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.

LOS ANGELES – Fox's hit series “The Masked Singer” is getting company with “The Masked Dancer,” a chance for celebrity contestants to show off their moves in disguise. Actor and comedian Craig Robinson ("The Office," “Hot Tub Time Machine”) will host the series, with Ken Jeong, Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green and Ashley Tisdale as panelists. Filming has begun on the series, which will debut in December, Fox said. “The Masked Singer," based on a South Korean TV show and an instant hit when it debuted in January 2019, has featured T-Pain, Wayne Brady and Kandi Burruss among its winning contestants. Jeong is among the show's panelists.
SEPA faces criticism over What Matters to U speaker John Kasich
Past SEPA events featured scientist and public figure Bill Nye, actor Ken Jeong and the outspoken womens soccer star Megan Rapinoe. After Rapinoe came to UM, students involved in UM College Republicans lodged their complaints at the lack of diversity of ideas presented by the three prior WMTU speakers. The president of UM College Republicans Micaela Stoner voiced her concern at vice president round table meetings and with top administration. Stoner said that she, along with many other conservative students, felt unheard as a demographic of this university. The fact that theyre bringing John Kasich who isnt that conservative and isnt really a Republican seems like a big cop out, Stoner said.

In previous years, UM welcomed guests such as Bill Nye The Science Guy and actor Ken Jeong. Its because Rapinoe not only plays the role of a soccer star but also of a social justice warrior. With one look at our Instagram or Twitter comments, it may seem that the philosophy of the school and our students are completely different. The fact that Megan Rapinoe was here is proof enough that though controversy may follow us, our reputation is only getting better.

The Creative Arts Emmys, which take place a week before the live broadcast Emmys ceremony, recognize technical achievements and are not included in the program. These awards go to cinematographers, casting directors and sound editors, among others.
