Already a two-time winner at St. Andrews, Tiger Woods has another honor before he even hit a shot in the 150th edition of the British Open.

Scheffler mows down European stalwarts in Match Play

Jon Rahm, of Spain, right, congratulates Scottie Scheffler on the 17th green after Scheffler won their round of eight match at the Dell Technologies Match Play Championship golf tournament Saturday, March 27, 2021, in Austin, Texas. I just have memories of me and my dad sitting on the couch and watching this guy make putt after putt. AdHe won the Match Play in 2013 and lost in the championship match last time to Kevin Kisner. He scrambled for par, and Spieth missed a 6-foot birdie putt. Spieth went 30 feet long, Kuchar was 6 feet short, and Kuchar won with a birdie.

Great Scot! MacIntyre battles world No. 1 Johnson to a draw

“It was a tough match,” Johnson said. “Obviously, I was dying to win that match,” MacIntyre said. The Spaniard, whose American home is in Austin, won his second match and thus eliminated Hatton, the No. He missed the birdie putt and Rahm, who would have had a putt from the same range, smile a sigh of relief. Johnson was 10 feet away for eagle, and MacIntyre still had him putt it (Johnson made it).

Masters field at 84 players heading into the final 3 months

55 after closing with a 77 in the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai to drop to a tie for 23rd. That he accumulated the most world ranking points (463.54) was no surprise. Johnson received credit for the victory with the staggered start based on the FedEx Cup (he tied for third in world ranking points). DIVOTSDustin Johnson earned an average of 25.75 world ranking points in his 18 starts worldwide in 2020. That's more than the total ranking points Tiger Woods earned (19.08) in the nine tournaments he played.

Mickelson added to field in a US Open without qualifying

Mickelson is now exempt to return to Winged Foot for the U.S. Open in September. The COVID-19 pandemic that forced the U.S. Open to move from June also cost the championship its identity of being open to all. Open qualifying wasnt possible for two stages at nearly 120 courses across the country and into Canada, England and Japan. With his five majors and Hall of Fame career not to mention his legacy of silver medals in the U.S. Open Mickelson likely would have received at least one exemption. The rest of the field is similar to what the British Open has done with its International Finals Qualifying for the PGA Tour.

Golfers in war of words after caddie's mom hit by stray ball

(CNN) - His drive hit his playing partner's caddie's mom, but Kyle Stanley's refusal to shout "fore" sparked a war of words in the Open at Royal Portrush Friday. "There's a few things I wasn't happy about today," MacIntyre told reporters Friday. "Playing partner doesn't shout 'fore.' Stanley insist he usually does shout "fore" but says it's a "unique" situation with marshals signalling and marshals down in the landing area. A spectator was struck by a stray ball hit by Brooks Koepka at the Ryder Cup last year and lost the sight in her eye.
