'Bad Guys' repeats at No. 1, Liam Neeson's latest misfires
The DreamWorks animated heist movie “The Bad Guys” was the top film in U.S. and Canada theaters for the second straight weekend, while the latest Liam Neeson thriller suggested the actor’s particular set of skills may be wearing thin with audiences.

Clooney honored by MoMA as actor, director and humanitarian
Clooney was honored Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, by co-stars and colleagues at the annual film benefit for the Museum of Modern Art, held virtually. MoMA’s annual film benefit raises funds to bring great works of film to the museum’s collection. Also giving virtual tributes Monday evening were actors Felicity Jones, Tiffany Boone, Kyle Chandler and Demian Bichir, who appear in “A Midnight Sky,” which Clooney stars in and directs. The benefit featured clips from some of Clooney’s many films: “Michael Clayton,” “Syriana,” "The Descendants,” “Gravity,” and “Good Night, and Good Luck,” among others. In earlier comments to The Associated Press, Clooney said “Good Night, and Good Luck” was probably his proudest professional accomplishment.

'Richard Jewell' trailer previews film about Olympic security guard
Sam Rockwell and Paul Walter Hauser are seen in "Richard Jewell." He's played in the film by Paul Walter Hauser, best known for his roles in "I, Tonya" and "BlacKkKlansman." Jewell was a security guard who found the device and was credited for saving countless lives before becoming a suspect. The film explores the response by law enforcement and the media in Jewell's defamation as he maintained his innocence. Sam Rockwell plays Jewell's attorney and Kathy Bates plays Jewell's mother.
