A gala thrown by the Black Conservative Federation over the weekend drew condemnation from Democrats after its guest of honor, Donald Trump, addressed the largely Black audience with remarks that played to racial stereotypes about the criminalization of African Americans.

Trump sometimes would hold rallies in multiple states in one day, where he presided over mostly shoulder-to-shoulder supporters mostly maskless.
Trump took shelter in White House bunker as protests raged
WASHINGTON Secret Service agents rushed President Donald Trump to a White House bunker on Friday night as hundreds of protesters gathered outside the executive mansion, some of them throwing rocks and tugging at police barricades. They sparked one of the highest alerts on the White House complex since the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001 . The White House does not comment on security protocols and decisions, said White House spokesman Judd Deere. Secret Service protocol would have called for all those under the agency's protection to be in the underground shelter. In recent days security at the White House has been reinforced by the National Guard and additional personnel from the Secret Service and the U.S. Park Police.

Fort Lauderdale man accused of threatening President Trump
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A man accused of trying to slash a Walmart employee with scissors in Fort Lauderdale now faces federal charges after allegedly threatening President Donald Trump while he was being arrested. Federal court records show Mohammed Omar Haji Mohammed, 36, is charged with making threats against the president during the July 8 altercation. The tipster, according to the Secret Service, said Mohammad at been "acting strange" and had "become more withdrawn" since losing his job. It was only after the Secret Service reviewed the Fort Lauderdale Police Department's body camera video of the Walmart confrontation that he was charged Friday with making the threats against Trump. The federal charge of threatening the president carries a maximum five-year prison sentence, up to $250,000 in fines and possible deportation for non-citizens.
