DALLAS – Aaron Ekblad scored with 9.3 seconds left in overtime after his apparent winner moments earlier was wiped out by a replay review, and the Florida Panthers beat the Dallas Stars 4-3. Carter Verhaeghe got the Panthers to overtime with a hat trick and they snapped a three-game losing streak that marked their longest of the season. Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves in the first of back-to-back games between the teams in Dallas. Denis Gurianov, John Klingberg and Joel L’Esperance scored for the Stars, who were coming off Thursday’s victory over NHL-leading Tampa Bay but haven’t won consecutive games since opening the season 4-0-0.
Barkov’s short-handed goal leads first place Panthers over Blackhawks

SUNRISE, Fla. – Aleksander Barkov scored a tiebreaking short-handed goal in the third period, and the Florida Panthers beat the slumping Chicago Blackhawks 6-3. It was the Panthers’ first short-handed goal this season. Down 3-1, the Panthers scored five unanswered goals to win their fourth straight game. Patrick Kane, Philipp Kurashev and Brandon Hagel scored for the Blackhawks, who lost for the fourth time in five games.

The Panthers scored three straight goals in the third period to erase a 4-1 deficit before Vatrano tipped in a rebounded shot from Jonathan Huberdeau to win it. Patric Hornqvist, Ryan Lomberg, Owen Tippett and Aleksander Barkov also scored for the Panthers, who have won four of five. Columbus has lost three straight and six of eight.

Michael Del Zotto and Oliver Bjorkstrand had goals for the Blue Jackets, and Joonas Korpisalo stopped 29 shots. Columbus has lost five of seven.
Red Wings hold off Panthers 2-1 after Brome’s 1st NHL goal

Patrik Nemeth also scored his first goal of the season for the Red Wings, who won for only the second time in seven games. Alex Wennberg scored for Florida in the first period, but the Panthers allowed two goals in the second. Goaltender Jonathan Bernier was strong in net for Detroit, stopping 38 shots on goal.
