Also, Indians outfielder Delino DeShields Jr., who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, is traveling to Cleveland after he had one negative test. According to a report, the Marlins sent pitchers Trevor Richards and Nick Anderson to Tampa Bay, in exchange for pitcher Ryne Stanek and outfielder Jesus Sanchez. Stanek is 0-2 for the Rays this season with a 3.40 ERA, working worked 55.2 innings with 61 strikeouts. Sanchez is currently playing in the minors where he played in 96 games with the Triple-A Durham Bulls. RHP Pablo Lopez (right shoulder strain) and RHP Drew Steckenrider (right elbow inflammation) continued their rehab by throwing bullpen sessions. He was an eighth-round draft choice by the Marlins in 2015, and was traded to San Diego the following year. Rivera was hitting .125 with one RBI before his line-drive single to left field drove in Garrett Cooper and Castro. JT Riddle entered the game as a pinch-runner after Cooper's single to left field. ... 3B Brian Anderson (elbow contusion) missed his fourth straight start and popped out to right field as a pinch-hitter in the seventh. ... As expected, SS Dansby Swanson (sore left quadriceps) was rested for the second straight game.

Arrieta improved to 8-1 in 11 career starts against the Marlins and has won all three starts against them this year. When Alfaro threw to second, Harper stopped before reaching the base.
