FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A person riding a scooter was killed in a crash with a vehicle Saturday morning, prompting the closure of a major intersection in Fort Lauderdale, authorities confirmed.
According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesperson Frank Guzman, the intersection of State Road 84 and South Federal Highway is closed while police investigate.
“Due to a fatal crash involving a scooter, the intersection of State Road 84 and S Federal Highway is currently closed. Drivers should seek alternate routes,” Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Police remained at the scene as the investigation continues.
No other details about the crash or the victim were immediately released.
