MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A fatal crash shut down the westbound lanes of the Dolphin Expressway on Saturday morning, troopers confirmed.
According to Lt. Alex Camacho, a spokesperson with the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 8:20 a.m. near Northwest 57th Avenue.
Camacho said the Toyota struck the rear of the flatbed truck at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Toyota, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
He said the westbound lanes of the Dolphin Expressway remained closed at Northwest 57th Avenue as the investigation continued.
No other details about the deceased victim were immediately released.
