High pressure that has given us dry, pleasant weather lately is moving away, and the next weathermaker is on the way. Clouds will thicken Saturday, with showers and a few thunderstorms arriving this evening and overnight, possibly continuing into early Sunday morning. I expect a break in the rain through midday Sunday, with more showers and storms developing during the afternoon as a cold front moves in. Highs will be in the lower 80s this weekend before some cooler, drier air moves in by early next week. If you’re heading to the beaches on Saturday, be advised there is a high risk of rip currents, so only swim at guarded beaches.
