Feb. 13: Temperatures climb to 80 after long cool streak; limited rain ahead

On Thursday, we reached 80 degrees for the first time in more than two weeks. That marks the longest streak of sub-80-degree temperatures in the past five years.

After a round of morning fog, we’re seeing plenty of sunshine to warm temperatures back to near 80. A stray shower is possible on Friday afternoon along the coast, but most areas will remain dry. The same pattern continues tomorrow.

There is some uncertainty about how many showers develop Sunday or whether most will stay offshore. It’s a close call, but at least a few showers are expected to reach the coastline.

Rain chances increase slightly Monday with spotty showers possible. However, this is not the soaking rain we need, as totals are expected to remain below a half-inch.
