April 4: Scattered showers possible this Easter weekend, no washout expected

Happy Easter weekend! Peter Cottontail will bring a few showers our way, but there will be plenty of dry time in between, so we’re not expecting a washout.

High pressure off the North Carolina coast will keep steady easterly winds in place. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for boaters, and there is still a very high risk of rip currents at the beaches throughout the weekend.

Rain chances stay at 20% to 30% both days, with highs in the lower to mid-80s. Those rain chances increase by the middle of next week as a front moves in and stalls for a couple of days. Until then, any showers will be hit or miss.
