High pressure will continue to remain the dominant weather feature across South Florida, keeping us in a hot and humid pattern with low rain chances, for the next few days. If any showers develop, the best chance will be in the afternoon, developing along the east breeze and pushing inland toward the Gulf Coast. A layer of dry air aloft should limit thunderstorm development today, but moisture will gradually increase by Wednesday, allowing for more showers and a few thunderstorms across the region.
Temperatures will continue to be near-normal for this time of the year, with highs reaching the upper 80s to low 90s across the East Coast Metro, and heat index values climbing into the upper 90s. Looking ahead, forecast confidence is increasing that a wetter pattern will develop late this week and into the weekend. A developing area of low pressure in the Gulf could pull deeper tropical moisture into South Florida, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms from Thursday through the weekend.
