We’re starting the day with an Air Quality Alert for Broward County until noon. Smoke from the wildfire near Doral has dropped air quality to the “unhealthy” category. Not just for sensitive groups, but for everyone. After noon, the smoke will lift off the ground and the smell will improve.
A Heat Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. for Broward and Miami-Dade counties due to a heat index up to 107°, which is the same kind of air as yesterday. I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a Heat Advisory every day this week with a similar combination of high heat and excessive humidity into the weekend.
Thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, mainly after 3 p.m. Some could be strong like yesterday and the placement will be similar. Expect most storms in Broward County or far northern Miami-Dade County. Around and south of downtown Miami and the Keys will stay dry.
