July 7: Rain chances lower as the heat index tops 110 degrees this week

Tuesday was another hot day with the heat continuing over the next few days. Highs will be in the low/mid 90s. Factor in the humidity and the heat index will peak between 105-110 degrees. Expect additional heat advisories this week.

We had some showers and thunderstorms earlier this afternoon but most of them have pushed west. We will be mostly dry overnight. A few showers will develop Wednesday morning, but will not last long. We are entering a drier streak as a burst of Saharan dust moves in and will stick around into next week. Expect hazy conditions and a “milky” sky.
