Aug. 15: Another heat advisory in effect in South Florida as heat index expected to hit triple digits

A heat advisory is in effect again for South Florida as the heat index will approach 100-105 degrees on Saturday. A weak tropical wave moved through this morning with showers in a few spots but little if any cooling storms are expected now through the middle of next week as an unusually dry weather patter kicks in. August is typically our third wettest month of the year but our drought conditions will continue with only about a half inch in store through the next seven days. High temperatures could approach records by early next week with highs into the middle 90s. Outside of a couple of weakening disturbances in the tropics all is quite close to home with no new development expected through next week.
