Unusually dry weather continues as we head through the back end of our weekend thanks to a lot of Saharan dust filling our skies keeping those rain and storm chances close to non-existent.

Fewer clouds means more sun which means hotter weather so look for highs in the mid-90s through the middle of the week which will put us near record highs each day. The dust is expected to thin a bit by Wednesday so rain chances will come back into the forecast later in the week although chances will still be lower than normal for mid-August.

A Heat Advisory is in effect today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. so avoid strenuous activities during the peak heating of the day and drink lots of water to avoid heat related symptoms.

The beach is the place to be but get under a shady palm tree. There’s currently no activity in the Atlantic to be concerned about and no tropical activity is expected through the next seven days.
