August 17: Very hot weather continues, records are likely to be challenged

The weather remains very dry and very warm across South Florida Monday night. Miami-Dade and Broward counties can expect mainly clear skies as a hint of Saharan dust lingers over the area. Temperatures are forecast to drop to 80°F overnight.

Tuesday is likely to bring record warmth. The day will feature plenty of sun and light, northwest to south-southeasterly winds. Temperatures will make a run for the upper 90s. If Miami hits 97°F or hotter, it will break the record high for the date.
