DAVIE, Fla. — Dozens of volunteers spent hours Sunday in Davie making sure no senior is left out of the Rosh Hashanah celebration.
At the Dorit and Ben J. Genet Cupboard kosher pantry, more than 100 volunteers loaded up bags filled with traditional holiday food and then drove across Broward County to deliver them to homebound seniors.
Another 25 volunteers, from middle schoolers to retirees, also helped at the pantry location in Davie.
The drive-through distribution happened at the pantry, with deliveries scheduled throughout Sunday.
The Cupboard says the community effort is all about bringing holiday joy to those who otherwise might have spent the Jewish new year without the holiday essentials.
