For nearly four decades, the Homestead Soup Kitchen has been a place where a warm meal comes with something extra: kindness, dignity and a sense of belonging.
This Saturday, that spirit will shine a little brighter as the soup kitchen hosts a special community gathering from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is designed to bring neighbors together not just around food, but around fellowship and support.
At the heart of the effort is Jordana Zarut, a longtime volunteer and advocate who founded the group behind the initiative. She says this weekend is about more than filling plates, it’s about filling hearts.
The afternoon will feature food, conversations and opportunities to learn more about the Homestead Soup Kitchen’s mission to serve families across South Florida. Organizers hope the event will inspire others to give back or simply take part in the sense of community the kitchen has cultivated for years.
